Target term hits a glass ceiling despite A grade
The points which you've mentioned/explained is only related to optimization. What exactly are you doing on promotion part. I guess you must be promoting this page via: Guest Blogging Forum Participation Directory Listing (High quality directories, regardless of NO/DoFollow and PR) Article Syndication PRs, etc. Sharing content on FB, Twitter, G+, etc. (very important) If not then start immediately. Optimization helps in better indexing but not directly in SE Rankings. Apply variation in Anchor Texts while developing links, so that it looks natural. for e.g: office to let deals in Leeds office to let Leeds office to let in Leeds, etc. It appears as if the bounce of this page would be relatively high, NO?

Keyword in Domain or not?
I agree with Marcus - if you are creating new urls and articles - keyword rich urls can deliver some added value but are overall of lesser importance to other contributing page factors. -Phil

How can I perform this 301 redirect?
Does this work for both Linux server software and Microsoft server software? Should there already be an .htaccess file or do you usually have to upload it to the server files via FTP?

Meta-robots Nofollow on logins and admins
I think that's probably fine - we're warning you just to tell you the pages are blocked, but blocking them sounds perfectly sensible. Is Google indexing them at all? I assume that the login page is getting multiple URLs, possibly based on the path people take to it? Ideally, it would help to collapse that to one URL (store the parameters in a form field or visitor session/cookie), but my gut reaction is that that's a nice to have. I suspect you're probably ok.

Cgi-bin folder
As eyepaq says - it's for holding executable "program" files. search engiens don't need access so it gets blocked. If it's empty you can even remove it.

How to prevent duplicate content at a calendar page
Ah... yeah, that's tricky. There's no magic solution, I'm afraid. You've really got three options: (1) Leave it alone (2) Re-organize your site architecture to push individual date pages down a level or two, so that they get less internal link-juice. (3) Re-organize such that you focus search engines on chunks of time or maybe date/aspect combinations, but then de-index the individual date combos. This would take a much better understanding of your site structure than I currently have. The goal would be to focus your index on some smaller combination of pages that still covers 80% of your search traffic. The big problem is just that this is a lot potential dilution, and I suspect that many of these pages look very similar to Google. I'm also certain that not all pages have the same value, either for SEO or users, so there's some hybrid approach where you could prune back but not lose everything. Long-term, I think that's worth the time and trouble to sort out, but it's not an emergency or something I'd rush into.

Logos and H1 Tags
Thanks for the answer Ben. We went ahead and tested it both ways and found that the text did better than the logo.

Penalized by Penguin 1.1 Release
There is no signal of this website's (www.onbetterterms.com) getting penalized. But still this URL has been redirected to a different one. My advice, concentrate on your onpage optimization techniques, instead of running after and checking for page penalty. Stick to the natural ways of seo and promote your website through quality contents, maintain a keyword density of maximum 1%, things must be fine in the next two catches by Google Bot. Don't mind but I feel that you have mentioned the URL ie. www.onbetterterms.com here, only to get some traffic to your website, which you have actually got. Nice trick..., but not good for the community.
