How long to recover from Panda Update
Weekly sounds about right. Dont forget to take a look at your places listings, and other elements while you are in the mood to update and improve! I understand how frusterating it can be optimizing an ecom shop or store. Lots of pages, lots of time, lots of typing. Just got done doing a site that had over 3000 pages. Keep your heart in it, and you will see the results you want. I took a look at the site, seemed like you were going in the right direction.

Implementation of rel="next" & rel="prev"
We have a good post on pagination right now on YouMoz at http://moz.com/ugc/seo-guide-to-google-webmaster-recommendations-for-pagination, which could be a good place to ask that quesiton.

UK rankings disappeared after US website launch
I don't know. A good decision would require me to understand the content history, SEO history, and technical history (CMS, htaccess, canonical) of both domains. I would need study the site and talk with all of the people who have done these things and compile that history as it occurred through time. I would then get technical advice from a consultant who really really knows the technical details and be willing to pay them for research and study. That history would be only as good as what the people who did the work were willing to share and could remember. I would not be comfortable with that information, because, the people who did the work have methods and views that are very different from mine. One thing that I can say with certainty. When I was done with this site the ecommerce pages would be reduced to product pages and a very small number of category pages. That is all. Would that fix the problem? I don't know, because I would worry that penalties and technical problems in the history of the site still hang over it.

SEO Redirect
As the others have said, redirecting domains with no backlinks (and even domains with just a few backlinks) will likely not be useful at all in terms of making the destination website rank better. I dealt with a client a few years ago who literally had thousands of parked domains, all with names somewhat related to their industry (for example, if they were in the sports betting industry, they owned thousands of domains like expertfootballbets.net). We completed a backlink crawl for each of these domains and threw out those with no links or too few links, first checking that there were none with particularly catchy names in the list. Then, we filtered through to find those that actually had good or passable links and decent names. The remaining list was pretty short. We sought (with budget) to build actual sites on those domains. They were basically affiliate sites for want of a better description: they were not "microsites" in that they didn't take away from the business of the main domain and the content wouldn't have been better off on the main site. From the many thousands we started with, I think our build list was about 30 sites, which was appropriate for the content and industry. I would imagine that most parked domain lists would end up with far fewer than 30 workable websites. Obvious misspellings or old company names should be redirected, but for usability purposes. It's much more work, but actually using the domains is much more useful in the long run, if that's possible, than just redirecting. As altecdesign says above, you're better off reinvesting the hosting / registration elsewhere for domains that have no other noticeable value.

How to identify orphan pages?
DeepCrawl.co.uk is another great resource here. This tool gives a full list of URLs, including number of internal links to each page. Filter this list by "No. links in" = 0, and this will give you a good list of orphaned pages. Cheers, Mike | Fresh Egg Australia

Unnatural links from your site
You're very welcome. If I were you I'd apply for reconsideration again with something like this: "Dear Webspam Team, Thank you for taking the time to reconsider my site. I do admit that at one time I offered guest posts from my blog. However, I have now removed all links from those posts. I have no intention of ever offering guest posts again. I have removed the "write for us" section of my site and will now concentrate solely on writing my own posts for the site. I enjoy writing these articles and participating in the Adsense program. Thank you once again, [your name]"

Should I change or redirect this URL?
Thanks for the help everyone. I kind of forgot if I'm redirecting it, then there's no problem with the old page. Thanks for the confirmation and the reminder! I appreciate it. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend! Ruben

Duplicated rel=author tags (x 3) on WordPress pages, any issue with this?
Thank you Spencer, each tag is indeed showing the same author so I think we'll be okay. But as you say it isn't ideal so we would look to get this corrected in the future. If the Fancier Author Box plugin had an option to disable rel=author tags, well that would be ideal. I'll try asking the plugin provider about this. Thank you again.

Blocking subdomains without blocking sites...
Ah, I see now. Try this out http://moz.com/community/q/block-an-entire-subdomain-with-robots-txt#reply_26992 - basically, when a subdomain is identified, it would pull a different file into the robots.txt location (which would contain the disallow: / syntax) Read the remaining comments about getting the subdomain removed via GWT.

Is alt text inside an img tag inside an h1 the same weight as text directly inside the h1?
I took a look at your site and your wording is slightly deceiving. You're not using alt img text. Your're using text inside of an <a>tag (aka a link) and then using css to overlay your logo. To use alt img text the image would have to be coded with an tag into your html, which it looks like it is but is currently commented out and not showing.</a> <a>Either way you look at it, at least in my opinion, your h1 should never be the same on every single page. There should be one on each page and it should be unique to that page. The h1 is supposed to be the main heading/title of the page and essentially you're telling google that the main title of every single page on your website is your brand name, which is incorrect. I'm not saying that leaving the brand name tied to your logo is wrong, but I don't think that it should be in a sitewide h1 tag.</a>

What can I do to stop ranking for a keyword that has nothing to do with the companies website?
What do you call a porn-addicted Mozzer? A person with a lot of link juice. Yeah, I heard Moz gets a lot of porn traffic. I also heard they get a lot of unauthorized backdoor entries. Something something DDOS attack. Something something too many partners. I'll be here all week, or until Moz bans me. I'm sorry. I'll go back to spreadsheets.

301 Redirects in subfolders
As I said before, if you are changing just the domain, then you can do the whole site in one redirect, but if you have a different page structure and thousands of pages, it would be a waste of time to do any pages that does not have a external link.
