Same anchor text
I agree with the above and ensureing unique anchor text and Egol where multiple pages where you can dominate several positions in search is great. We have a main keyword that we target on several pages and use anchor text that includes that word but also targets longer tail variations. e.g. word, phrase with word, elaberate on word.

Should I use a Page Name variable after the ? for a dynamic web page
I would certainly incorporate as many human readable elements as possible in the URL - these can only help improve the SEO for each product page. With regard to your concerns about keeping your URLs manageable - Could you not incorporate a unique element into the URL (such as the ISBN number or SKU reference) alongside a well structured keyword rich element - as you find on Amazon or Play.com for example: http://www.amazon.com/Art-SEO-Mastering-Optimization-Practice/dp/0596518862 or http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/90536/Four-Weddings-And-A-Funeral/Product.html Using a unique identifier would prevent duplicate URL issues and in some cases - books for example - it could actually help your rankings - If the unique reference was one that could also be searched for by potential buyers - The ISBN 10 number is incorporated in the Amazon URL example above - and regular readers who want a very specific edition of a product are likely to search using this in their search query. I would leave you with one suggestion - carry out any number of random product searches both within your niche and out of it - and note how many of the highest ranking URLs have a structure similar to the one you are currently considering versus structured, human readable URLs.

Duplicate Links
One of my most important jobs as a webmaster is to get website visitors to do what I want them to do. That's how you make money. (pig nose intentional) If I have an opportunity to make money by getting them into a specific page then my job is to promote that page strongly. Of course, I want the visitor to be happy but my job is to make money. I don't have any problem with promoting a money-making page twice (or three times!) on a single URL and there is no better place to promote my best stuff than on the homepage of the site.

Do Schema.org changes impact local SEO
You would figure that if Google, Bing & Yahoo get behind a new standard for declaring what snippets of information mean through schema.org then at some stage soon, they will either be using those tags to hone in on specific parts of content more relevant to a search query or present more information to the viewer during a search. The new section, article and heading tags of HTML5 would also seem to come in to the new richer data model for a web page. There has been a lot of work standardising these tags, so it would be a logical deduction to consider they along with personalization factors will become more prevalent in future.

Spammy keywords on a page
People do tend to become attached to things and resistant to change, that said, I would opt for pulling it. They are unsightly and take up space..........

Title Keyword Question
I would tend to use a keyword tool which identifies traffic. Determine which will yield the most fruit and go that direction. I would alos suggest using website pages and content to support........ so, have individual pages for each apple type, then you could use the apple types for your page titles. Just my thoughts.........

SEO for affiliate site
You need to provide original content promoting your site's niche. Why should someone visit your site as opposed to the dozen other sites offering the same product? Is your site cheaper? Do you offer a better return policy? Are you local? Determine what you are promoting, what makes you special, and focus on that angle. To use an example, if your site promotes women's health and you are an affiliate for "ABC Vitamins" then you can still sell Vitamin A but write an article specifically about how Vitamin A affects women.

Getting pages indexed by Google
Carlos Actually, it is in the index but if you do: site:www.uniquip.com as a search in Google it is not the first result, which it should be. If you do "site:www.uniquip.com" (with the quotes) as a search in Google, it is still only the second result, it should be the first, which is a sign that something is weird, which would require some more investigation. -Dan

Is having the word catalog in an ecommerce site url detrimental to seo.
I would implement this without the word "catalog". I don't think that it adds anything of value and the shorter URL might be very very slightly more effective. Not a big deal but I like to toss dead weight overboard.

Best Practice for Deleting Pages
What we decided to do was a process for each deletion along with setting up a 301 redirect for any missing or incorrect bio to our Bio's home page. First, we will remove the bio from the XML sitemap and resubmit the sitemaps. Second, we wait a couple of days then delete the actual bio page from our site. So far this seems to be going alright.

Does Google still see masked domains as duplicate content?
To my knowledge, yes. They have certainly evolved, but in my opinion their evolution would point only to the fact that they will see through masking tricks even better than they once did. I ran an experiment with an affiliate link in 2008, and because the domain I purchased was the exact match of a product (the owner was trying to brand his name with his domain instead of the product which people actually searched for), and my masked domain was ranked #1 for weeks! Shortly thereafter though, Google realized it was duplicate content, and while the experiment made over $1,000 in that time, the moral of the story is that they did catch on, and the rightful owner of the site reclaimed the #1 spot (and my masked domain got the boot just like it should have). If they were able to detect this 3 years ago in my little experiment, I would bet they could detect it now much faster, so in my opinion it would be best to avoid these tactics altogether.

Long or Short URLs. Who's Coming to Dinner?
Agreed. The risk of losing juice from a redirect would keep me from moving forward. The only way that I would consider redirecting the old page is if the new page provides better and more relevant/current content. If you don't plan on improving the content and are only using duplicate content then there is no need to change the page or URL.

Will a "no follow" "no index" meta tag resolve duplicate content issue?
Correct, you don't, but you don't want it ignored either. Use the canonical attribute to refer back to the original content and transfer authority and juice.

Multiple locations
Hi Mike, Thanks for your answer. Both organic and local. My main concern was whether displaying the 3 addresses in the footer as well as just one of the addresses on each location page was a good idea. Thanks.

How do Maximize WordPress with 2 SEO Plugins
Hi Marcus. I agree with the previous answers. Just stick to one plugin. Besides, WP plugins use up server resources so try to keep only the really necessary. Personally I use Yoast's and works well. Make sure you have the latest version (0.4.2) since the previous one gave TONS of errors when trying (failing) to generate the sitemap xml. Yoast's plugin is particularly good since everything is integrated, so the sitemap is coherent with the canonicals and the noindex etc etc. Otherwise, you'll have one plugin dictating, say, one canonical for a page and the other plugin a different thing (hypothetically, at least) which is obviously not good. Good luck

On page Analysis... how does seomoz choose to match a keyword to a url?
The on page analysis is showing you this URL as it is the one that you are currently ranking 37th for. The Grade applied to this page is determined by many on page elements that can be better optimised to improve your Grade - and in doing so the likelyhood of improving your rankings as a result. With regard to better optimising your page to best match your keyword - I would suggest that you first (and foremost) look at focusing on first selecting a small number of potential keyword variations that are the most relevant to your niche, your content and your customer - make sure they are targeted keyword/s rather than a very broad keyword/s (especially if the broad keyword is one that is highly competitive.) Then I would take my shortlist of keywords and do some keyword research using something like Google's Keyword Tool or similar and examine the popularity of these keyword phrases (I would also consider selecting phrase and exact matches for these keywords) to best determine the most popular variations based on the number of monthly searches. Try and build a URL structure that matches this keyword too - for example www.mydomain.com/villas-in-florida/ (If this proves to be a different keyword to the one you are currently using and you want to change the URL structure, page title etc and some of the copy on page you should create a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new.)

How do we increase traffic on website.
David and Keri both summed it up well. These are some suggestions you'll probably find in the resources suggested, or elsewhere on the site, but thought I'd add them directly here: Add meta description tags for each page. Use useful and keyword-friendly urls - for example instead of "services.php" try "wedding-photography-services.php" Better headings, for example on the about_us.php page you'd want the header to say "Wedding Photography" instead of just "Photography". Lots of low hanging fruit here to fix - definitely read through the resources suggested and others on the site!
