Hey folks -
I've been doing some research and thought I'd pose the question to you all. We're looking into tools for the coming year as we're starting to work on budgets and projections. Nothing's guaranteed, of course, but I'd like to have a definitive wish list developed for discussion in case there's an opportunity to expand my arsenal of SEO tools.
I've been looking into BrightEdge and Searchlight as big, enterprise platforms. They have quite the hefty price tag attached, so in the event we can actually partner with one of them, I'd love to know if anyone has had experience with one or both of them to help decide which might be best for us. They seem pretty similar and I've been on numerous calls with sales people from both. Are there any glaring pros and cons I need to be aware of?
Ultimately, I'm looking for a tool to help me, as an SEO team of 1 for multiple brands, be as efficient as possible. In theory, these would help in that they're a one-stop-shop for site audits, keyword research, crawl reports, backlink analysis, etc. We're currently using Moz, Search Console, and whatever other free tools I can get my hands on. It's a very "scrappy" way of doing things, and while I'm well aware that BrightEdge or Searchlight can't do the work for me and I obviously can't take their recommendations at face value, I'm thinking they would help streamline my work a little and help me save time.
What do you guys think? Have any of you used these tools or tools like these before with excellent experiences? Awful experiences? Are there any red flags I need to be aware of?
Thanks for your help! I want to be as mindful (and logical) as I can when taking tools like these into consideration. They don't come cheap and I certainly don't want to make a mistake if we're able to move forward with one of them.
