I'm seeing some pretty robust tools out there for this but can't seem to find something that can simply combine hashtag mentions across those three outlets and generate a report. Talkwalker looks great but I think it's too heavy duty for our needs.

Is there an existing tool that can count hashtags across Twitter, Facebook and Google+ and generate a tally report?

Form Only Pages Considered No Content/Duplicate Pages
We have a lot of WordPress sites with pages that contain only a form. The header, sidebar and footer content is the same as what's one other pages throughout the site. Each form page has a unique page title, meta description, form title and questions but the form title, description and questions add up to probably less than 100 words.
Are these form pages negatively affecting the rankings of our landing pages or being viewed as duplicate or no content pages?

RE: Custom Wordpress Theme - HTML5 Outline - H1 display: none
Thank you for the answer guys. I agree with you and Schwabb. We originally did this for design purposes to try and have a clean HTML5 Outline with the header, banner, and any sub banner content that comes before body content, included in the outline. We were annoyed by having a H1 at the very top of the page and annoyed by the fact that it could be interpreted as trying to game the system. Our research at the time of developing the site's theme didn't give us a better alternative so we chose design, especially when Google site cache was showing that our H1's were still visible with a CSS class that contained the display: none property.
Since then, we learned of a better way to do this that involves removing the header content from the outline and still starting the page content with an H1. This Distilled blog article is a good example of this. We'll be rolling out a new theme update soon to fix this to satisfy things from both a design and SEO perspective.

Custom Wordpress Theme - HTML5 Outline - H1 display: none
We are using a custom wordpress theme for to help us optimize our webpages. We're trying to structure the webpages so that things are as optimized as possible for our clients. I was wondering if we could get some feedback on whether or not we using the correct page structure across the site. We have set a no-display class on the H1 so that the page title wouldn’t mess up the layout and is placed above the logo and have placed other header tags on the different page sections and added in keyword variations to avoid having untitled sections.
Is
equal to
?
Is there a better way to structure this content? Are we not doing something that we should be or overdoing anything?
I guess my main question is what would be the best way to use HTML5 to structure this website?http://estheticdentistry.net

RE: Does a KML file have to be indexed by Google?
Thanks for getting back! I wanted to show you a screenshot of my GWT. The geo_sitemap.xml is crawled with no errors but the locations.kml that it's linking to is never seen. That being said, how it the KML being seen by Google? Is there some way that I can verify?

RE: Does a KML file have to be indexed by Google?
Hi Mike,
I think I'm starting to understand where you are going with this. It sounds like I need to index the KML using a link from the footer of the site instead of from the geositemap that Yoast creates since Google won't crawl it or past it.
I read on Google Sitemap page:
"We recommmend that you tell Google about geographically-based URLs by including them in a regular Web Sitemap."
If the KML is referrenced in the sitemap_index.xml, then it's being seen by Google but if the geositemap.xml is between the sitemap_index.xml and the locations.kml, then it is hidden from Google.
All of this is being controlled by the an SEO plugin for WordPress from Yoast. I am wondering if I need to create the KML manually and upload to the sitemap or if should I let Yoast continue to render it. Mike, do you use a specific tool/plugin for KML creation for Wordpress websites?

RE: Does a KML file have to be indexed by Google?
How do you know know if Google can see the KML? It's not been listed in any of the search results for our sites using this plugin and this competitor is telling my client I'm wrong because you can't see the file in Google Webmasters.
I guess the main question is if Google isn't indexing the KML and Webmaster Tools doesn't index it, how do we know it sees the file?

Does a KML file have to be indexed by Google?
I'm currently using the Yoast Local SEO plugin for WordPress to generate my KML file which is linked to from the GeoSitemap. Check it out http://www.holycitycatering.com/sitemap_index.xml.
A competitor of mine just told me that this isn't correct and that the link to the KML should be a downloadable file that's indexed in Google. This is the opposite of what Yoast is saying... "He's wrong.
And the KML isn't a file, it's being rendered. You wouldn't want it to be indexed anyway, you just want Google to find the information in there. What is the best way to create a KML? Should it be indexed?

Appropriate Use of Rel Canonical
I have encountered problems regarding rel canonical. When I ran On-Page Report Card it says
**Error: **
Appropriate Use of Rel Canonical
Canonical URL: "http://www.sourcedental.createmyid.net/teeth-whitening/"
Explanation: If the canonical tag is pointing to a different URL, engines will not count this page as the reference resource and thus, it won't have an opportunity to rank. Make sure you're targeting the right page (if this isn't it, you can reset the target above) and then change the canonical tag to reference that URL. Recommendation We check to make sure that IF you use canonical URL tags, it points to the right page. If the canonical tag points to a different URL, engines will not count this page as the reference resource and thus, it won't have an opportunity to rank. If you've not made this page the rel=canonical target, change the reference to this URL.
NOTE: For pages not employing canonical URL tags, this factor does not apply."
I just don't know how to fix this. I am using Wordpress SEO by Yoast but I haven't change any settings regarding rel canonical. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks
