Also worth mentioning that if you have connections with some pro players who have influence in this area, it would be 100% worth pushing for a link or at very least a twitter shout-out to get some interaction going, Even if its a nofollowed link from a topic youtube channel, they are exactly the target audience you will be looking for and once you get some visits if they like your content and guides they may start sharing it with there friends/fellow players interacting and creating some buzz and traffic around your site, I would think you may get somewhere with your connections especially if they are contributing content to your site, Hope this helps James

Hey Jen, Amazing timing! Really good feedback. As for a starting place, could you recommend any platforms or plug and play solutions? Where you can encourage engagement, promote community members, and send out emails. There are a lot of options out there but most of them seem kind of archaic. Especially compared to the shininess of Moz Q&A and Youmoz. Appreciate your help!

Hi Joey, I would definitely keep that as the homepage. It looks much more appealing and interesting than the guides page! You should think on other ways to keep the visitors in your site, perhaps some little design changes that could help. I would start with the header, it is FAR too large. The main content is moved far away to the bottom. Although it is a responsive design, the header remains always too large. I have a 1920x1080 and I can barely see the main content, but look what happens with a smaller screen, you can't see anything but the header. gNUxeJo.png x5g7QhP.png

Considering you rank 4th or 5th, I wouldn't guest post for a direct competitor. Maybe if you were like 200th, and you did for someone in the top 3 it could help you, but it doesn't strike me as a winning proposition. Instead, I would try to go after a high ranking non-sports video game blog. There has to be at least some crossover between the people who play the games you blog about and all the other video game genres other people blog about. Contact those website owners and see what you can do about building appropriate link-able content. At the very least, you could get yourself, a 1st person shooter blog, and an RPG blogger together to do a three way linking system. On your page, you could have a sidebar that says "For tips on Call of Duty) with the 1st person shooters blog linked and the same for the RPG. The other two could do it for you as well. Just make sure everything links to good content.
