301 internal redirects
You'll be fine as long as your 301s redirect to the actual content and not to other 301s. So 301 > homepage; 301 > homepage; 301 > homepage won't hurt you at all, but 301 > 301 > 301 > homepage will get you in trouble.

Keyword self cannibalization
You're doing it right, you don't want to target the internal page for just "liverpool" Remember though, anchor texts on links still count as content on a page so don't over do it by having 50 links on the home page with "dog training xxx" "dog training yyy" "dog training "zzz" of that main page will look keywords stuffed. Use extreme moderation, it's better to have less instances of the main keyword than too many. Remember to use synonyms to "dog obedience schools in liverpool" for example, based on keyword research.

Wordpress: Should I NO INDEX Categories & Archives Pages?
Hi all, I think it is first important to look at your category structure. Use categories as main categories and tags as subcategories. If you have 1 post, in 5 different main categories, you will then be duplicated in some cases the same info. I keep all my posts in one main category which I do index and then all the subcategories as (tags) which I have no-index on. Also, Yoast SEO is my favorite plugin. Just plain easy to use.

Duplicate Content & www.3quarksdaily.com, why no penalty?
Thank you for taking the time to respond, and with such well thought out answer. I suppose the original author would not be so bothered about 3 Quarks Daily as at least they link to & request readers to visit the original site for the full article, which is obviously more than The New Dawn Liberia Site. Do you feel that creating such a site (3 Quarks Daily) as a readers resource of the best articles on a specific topic from across the web is a legitimate way to build a website (for personal pleasure not profit)? and what are your thoughts on copyright issues? How would you feel if others re-posted your content in this way? It is interesting that Google does not penalize duplicate content websites, and in this specific example surprising that those re-posting others content can rank higher. (sorry for asking so many questions)
