I've been having similar problems with a site of mine. Apparently, Rogerbot does not follow the same rules as Google's spiders and, as a result, Roger should be taken as a rough guide instead of a definitive answer.

I know, this isn't a particularly helpful answer. If anyone could chime in with the specifics of what Roger does and does not crawl and how it relates to google's spider crawls I'd appreciate it as much as you.

Personally I think it's unethical to take on more than one client in the same niche in the same area for two reasons.

1. If your clients are in the same niche the same keywords are valuable to them which puts you in a position where you have to compete with yourself. This means that you're never going to be able to give your clients the best possible service as you're always going to have to make a tradeoff on which keywords you rank.
2. If one of your clients in the same niche leaves, the client that remains has an unfair competitive advantage as you already know exactly what strategies have been employed on the site that is no longer under your control.

What makes this industry interesting is the amount of diversity and new challenges we face on a daily basis. If I were you I'd try to find clients that make your job as interesting as possible.

I've recently acquired a client that sells property all over the country (South Africa). It's in their best interests to rank well for localised keywords relating to the areas they have listed properties in. eg. Property for sale in example suburb/town/province.

The project has a number of challenges which I'd appreciate any suggestions for

1. The site acts as an aggregator for numerous partner property agents and, as s such, has a lot of duplicate content on it
2. The company only has offices in one city. It handles online bookings which it then passes to its partner agencies - this presents me with a problem of creating listings in the areas I need to rank for
3. I cannot list the actual addresses of properties

Your thoughts and advice would be seriously appreciated.
