I know about FWA but do no really follow it. I do follow Awwwards and I think i's a trust wordy website. I've seen there listed websites from brands like Pepsi, Coca Cola, Nike, Addidas. So yes do submit your website to Awwwards, but do it because you have a great website and you can get ranked as the website of the day. They have amazing websites there and can get you natural back-links from people that will like your website. I don't know much about the directory submission but I know they are a trusted website.
