Thanks for your input.  Do you mean the admin area for developers or for regular users? I'll look into the accrediting issue.  We know the system is expensive.  Mobile is very important to us.  Finding developers will be a challenge no matter what because of our new location (Nevada).

If the page no longer exists and you remove the robots command for that directory it shouldn't make much difference. Google could start reporting it as a 404 since it knows that the files used  to exist and there's no longer a robots command to ignore the directory. I don't see any harm in leaving it there, but I also don't see many issues arising from removing the robots command.

Thanks Andie.  That's what I thought.  I haven't been able to find anyone drawing conclusions that these two issues could be related.  The types of spam are definitely quite different.

Hi Franck - Thank you for your response.  I totally understand that strategy for an e-commerce site and for other types of sites.  You need those corporate pages to establish brand trust and information for someone who is wondering who you are. However, for us, our content is really our value -- people don't purchase anything on our sites.  Only a few of our sites see, or expect, any branded traffic.  Our traffic is driven mostly by people looking for help with various financial aid issues and our content is the solution we hope they find.  Obviously if they search for "sitename + privacy policy" we want our page to come up, but other than that, we just need it accessible on the site.  Does anyone else have a site where they don't want to rank for these pages and have stuck them in a more appropriate place within the site architecture to match the value they bring?
