How can I get Bing to index my subdomain correctly?
Hi guys, I thought you'd be interested in a follow up on this. So I submitted my sitemap to Bing - all good, no issues, Bing successfully retrieved it. However after submitting it, my site has effectively disappeared from the SERPs! A number of internal pages are being indexed, but the head/brand queries (where I was ranking incorrectly at #1) are now showing nothing. Very strange. Not sure what else I can do - luckily Bing accounts for a tiny fraction of my traffic! Cheers Karl

Facebook experts, I need help: is this 'strategy' idea legit or nonsense?
Hi there Jane, Thanks a lot for taking the time to read and respond to my question. Your response confirms my thinking that the premise is flawed, and brings into question why the faculties just don't activate their own audience as and when required. Thanks again, appreciate it!

Global navigation & backlinks to external sites
Fair enough. If you believe there is a benefit to your users then proceed. Sounds like they are seasonal navigational links and that they could be good for users. But because this tactic could be used to manipulate search, it might still raise flags. If you are automating these links and they all appear on the same day at the same time with the "Exact same fantastically keyword stuffed anchor text" then it will look suspicious. If these are links pointing to a uniquely titled event, "November SEO Evangelist Raleigh" and the news is published casually in content over a few days after the original announcement then it will look less suspicious. Especially if the each publication adds in some additional commentary about the event that makes it useful for each site's distinctive audience. As with everything SEO, test it out. You should know fairly quickly if you get an algo penalty. You should also know fairly quickly if users are finding the links useful. I would certainly "NoFollow" the links.

Twitter cards - one account, various domains?
I never come across a case like this on the internet so the ideal idea will be to contact the developers team but I don’t think there should be a problem and logically it make sense to me!

Archiving a festival website - subdomain or directory?
I work with a lot of arts events on a minimal budget and I normally move the old website to: www.website.com.au/2011, www.website.com.au/2012 and make the current year www.website.com In this way you're still getting benefit from having a large website, the archive of the previous events is still there, artists still have a presence and people still find the website in the SERPs, navigate to the homepage which is the current event.
