Google points of Interest / POI
Hi Miriam, Thanks for the input. I will continue to look into this. I am amazed by the short amount of resources on this! In fact I was a bit perplexed as I thought I was searching with incorrect terms. If I discover something of value will share it. Thanks, Conrad

Ajax tabs on site
Just keep in mind that people would much prefer to scroll to find something than not see it at all. Perhaps exchange the tabs for in-page anchors that will scroll someone down to a particular part of the page from the top? I have seen Google index these anchors as well, so word them carefully, and you could gain extra from doing so. -Andy

Internal nofollow links
Thanks for your reply! The intention is not for SEO, more for users to make them aware of the product page and to check it out. So it should be useful and I imagine it shouldn't be a problem then

Rankings on Google local search
Yup. As an example, run a search for "portland made leather" in comparison to "hand made leather" The localization factors are definitely a consideration in the first one (without displaying the Local Listings box) and less so in the second. Of course the first few results are going to also be ranking as they do for other considerations, but local plays a part in it, both on and off page.
