Yeah, looks like I was of no use at all
I'm glad it's working.

RE: Is this causing me to drop in rank?
We are definitely not seeing the same thing. Are you perchance using a content delivery network? It might just take some time to update if so.
I suggest we both keep an eye on it and make sure that it's fixed for both of us going forward

RE: Is this causing me to drop in rank?
I see the same as you for that post, but I still see the canoncial on posts like this:
This is why I'm thinking you might have fixed it, and we're just seeing an old static version of the page. Re-caching the pages and/or updating posts might fix it up.

RE: Is this causing me to drop in rank?
I cleared my cache and I still see it on posts. I suppose it's worth asking if you have a caching/site speed plugin?

I'm still seeing it as well. When you re-visit header.php now, is the line you deleted still gone?

RE: Is this causing me to drop in rank?
Hi there,
Make sure to check any plugins first. Some themes and plugins offer the option to add any code you like to the head - it sounds like there might be a static canonical tag in a field like this. That would be my first thought - let me know if I can be of assistance in fixing this up.
Thanks,
Carson

RE: Affiliate links and Panda
Hi Daniel,
Is this still an issue that you are working to resolve? Panda and manual reviews of your site are unlikely to penalize you for one thing alone. There are a lot of purely affiliate sites out there with unmasked links that rank just fine.
There is some debate as to the negative impact of affiliate links, but I do prefer to hide them. If Google does know where they go, fine, but I also use it to make seeing the actual bounce rate on a page easier. And yes, they should always be nofollow.
I would recommend checking on the dates and seeing whether the drop in Google organic traffic aligns with one of the Panda updates. You then know if you need to focus on Panda issues or something else.

RE: Google Update?
Interesting stuff - is revenue up as well then? Could there be an issue with analytics code counting people twice, or not counting people in the past?

RE: Google Update?
We are not aware of any significant changes since last Thursday, but I'm glad to hear that your results are doing well! It might be interesting to go into analytics and see where the users are coming from. Are they coming through Google-organic, or did you perhaps pick up some coverage that is sending you referring traffic?
If it is organic traffic, you can then look at organic keywords, compare it to the past, and see which keywords have increased the most. It's always good to know what's going right and how you can duplicate it
It's also worth looking at your content report to see which organic landing pages are doing well.
