There are "likes" and "shares". Any chance these two items are being confused? Also, if your Like button is mis-coded, it is possible to "Like" the wrong page. Another potential source of confusion, there are Likes for your facebook page, and Likes for your website page. If you determine none of the above are the issue, please share the URL.
