In the SEOmoz tools I am getting multiple errors for duplicate page content and duplicate page titles for one section on my site. When I check to see which page has the duplicate title/content the url listed is exactly the same. All sections are set up the same, so any ideas on why I would be getting duplication errors in just this one section and why they would say the errors are on the same page (when I only have one copy uploaded on the server)?

        Hi Kristi

Can you post a link please so that we can have a look please?  And is this happening for all pages or just some?  Is this a Wordpress blog?

        Kieran

          Hi Kieran,

The site is not a Wordpress blog, it is a basic aspx site. It is just happening for the Italy pages that start here: http://www.ciee.org/ifds/seminars/italy/index.aspx None of the other destinations are having this problem in Tools.

Are you sure they're exactly the same? An address with www. is considered a different page to one without the prefix, as is one with or without a trailing stroke e.g. www.randomwebsite.com compared to www.randomwebsite.com/ - and so is a URL with different letters capitalised that is otherwise the same.

I just did a comparison and realized that you are right, there is a slight difference. Italy is capitalized in one version since it is linked that way on one page. I had no idea that would make such a difference! The link has been fixed, thank you for your help!

              • Since July 1, we've had a HUGE jump in errors on our weekly crawl. We don't think anything has changed on our website. Has MOZ changed something that would account for a large leap in duplicate content and duplicate title errors?
