Why does the moz bar link count differ from the moz link analysis page
-
Hi all,
Why does the Moz Bar show a different link count from the Moz link analysis page? For example, when I check the SERP below, for the first result, the bar shows 936 page links from 4 RDs. But when I check out the link analysis page, it tells me there are just 141 page links from 4 RDs. What gives?
For the second entry, the bar shows 6 page links from 0 RDs. Not sure how that's possible.
Can anyone explain these things.
Thanks!
Andy

Hi there Andy,
Thanks so much for writing in to us - Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
I think the issue here is this - it's worth nothing that MozBar displays Total links (internal and external links), so if you're seeing a large amount of links and 0 RDs I would recommend checking the Link Explorer Compare Link Profiles tab to see a breakdown of the results.
https://moz.com/help/guides/link-explorer/compare-link-profilesIn this case you'll see that for instance for the page with 6 links from 0 RDs, the 6 links are internal links. The link analysis will show you results for that specific page - in the compare link profiles section you can see for the 936 page links/4 RDs, that is the set of total links. The 141 links would be links pointing just to that page.
I hope this helps but do let me know if I can help with anything else!
