      Hi there,

I am starting to work on my web and I have a question regarding the featured images of the articles. How can I work with them to improve the SEO of my posts?

      Thank you in advance! 🙂

        Hello!

There are several things you can do to work your images for a better SEO.

        • Use original, high-quality images. Try to avoid by all means the stock images that we found everywhere.

        • Optimal file size without losing quality. Images are often the main cause of slow loading pages. If your site has trouble with the speed, try reducing the size of the images and compressing them.

        • Descriptive captions. Adding captions to your images is an image optimization good practice.

I hope this will help you to improve the SEO of your blog. Good luck!

          Hola Lucía!

          1. Google likes mainly these 3 formats: jpg, png and gif.

          2. The less weight you have the images BETTER !. Here I leave a software where you can reduce the images with percentages of how much it reduces it and with different qualities: http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/imageoptimizer/ is very easy to use, try it and you will see.

          3. Use the "alt" tag, or alternative text. Google is not able to interpret the information offered by the images; that is why you have to use the ALT attribute.

          4. Use the "title" tag or title of the image. It never hurts to put the title on the images.

With these 4 things you will ensure a good optimization of your images.

            • I run courses in Australia, and use course material that several companies use. While I can 'rewrite' the overview, the course outlines are identical and there no getting past that. Is there a way to let Google know? Thanks in advance.
