      Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding spam score of websites. So, even if we disavow backlinks in search console which are harming a site and are responsible for the spam score, then how will MOZ know that those backlinks are disavowed? And if they do not know then spam score will ever be reduced of any website.

Is there any way to tell MOZ that those harmful links which responsible for the spam score are are no longer pointing to our site?

        Hi Saksham,

Moz considers 17 main factors for the spam score. Therefore it might take more efforts for down the spam score. Attached a link to the blog that explain each one in detail. Good luck!

        Mª Verónica

          Yes, I know that.

My question is if I disavow links in Google search console then how MOZ will know that we've disavowed harmful links and how the MOZ spam score will be reduced?

It seems it will take some time. Quote: "Disavow Files: Again, because Spam Score won't perfectly catch everything, you will likely need to do some additional work here (especially if the site you're working on has done some link buying on more generally trustworthy domains), but it can save you a heap of time evaluating and listing the worst and most obvious junk."

On regard your question, yes it is possible to improve the spam score, though it might take some time. Also, if you check and improve the other factors, the website might improve the spam score faster.

Hey there! Unfortunately there is not currently a way to mark links as disavowed in Moz tools. Generally Spam Score should be used a guideline to investigate potential penalization issues rather than a concrete checklist. If you know that you've worked on your harmful backlinks, you can usually ignore that warning!
