I think that PatrickDelehanty is one of the best persons to read.  I read every post of his that I see, and I read some of them twice.  If you look at Don's spreadsheet you will see that Patrick has the highest endorsement ratio.  He is earning lots of Moz points lately because he has lots of good ideas and is generous with them.

I'd like to know if there is a link that I can click and see all recent posts by a certain person.   I would like to have an easy way to read all of Patrick's posts.  And I would read MoosaHemani's posts because his ideas are simple and practical, and AlanBleiweiss because he makes me think twice, and MarieHaynes because I think that she understands Google.  There are lots of people who I read one of their posts and would like to read more.  Just tossing a few out here that come right to mind.

        Wow, that is really cool.

I was about to mozzie off to bed and thought I would give Moz one last read and saw this.

I'm glad my little project was enjoyed by others. Big thanks to Peter Nikolow for parsing the data to ensure all active users were aggregated and ranked.

        Cheers,

        Don

          Hi Dirk,

The point about PPM made me smile, the great thing and the worst thing about data is that it can be viewed so many ways. I really see your point here.

Another thing that didn't quite make sense to be is on the Thumbs % tab. I'm not really sure how somebody could have less MozPoints than thumbs up as you should receive 1 point per thumb. I guess some people could have had some thumbs down which I didn't take into account and actually increased their ranking in this category.

          Don

Wow really cool, so instead of 18 I must have been 9, then I like it even more ;-)!

              Hi EGOL,

Specifically, would you like to be able to easily view all questions posted by a specific person in the forum, or questions they have answered (or at least responded to)?

                Both would be nice.  🙂

But the one that I use the most at other forums is questions answered.  It allows me to appreciate the wisdom of people who I trust.

Being able to view questions posted by a person is valuable too.  Some members will post the same question again and again.  Sometimes the need to hear the same answer multiple times from different people.  Sometimes their questions will be attempts to manipulate and if we look back we see that it is a pattern.

                Thanks for asking.

Okay, to view questions answered by a person, you'll need to grab their user ID from the URL for their community profile. (For example, your user ID is 446.) Next, swap it out for the user ID in this URL: https://moz.com/community/q/users/446/answers.

To view questions posted by a person, do the same thing with this URL: https://moz.com/community/q/users/446/questions.

Voia! Does that make sense, EGOL? It's not the most elegant solution, but it's what we have (for now).

                  Christy 🙂

Thanks!    That's mighty nice.  Makes perfect sense.

                    Thank you!

Thanks for doing this & that's pretty awesome data. I think it's cool to see who the helpful members are and what they're doing to be helpful. It's interesting how the data has changed over time as well. Some of the long-term Moz users have more posts written & more blog comments but fewer Q&A. The top people from the past 12 months are practically the opposite with way more Q&A involvement (people like Patrick, etc.)

Very cool analysis! In the past I've found it interesting to see how people have gotten to the top of the leaderboard, whether it's blog posts, thumb ups, or answers in the Q&A section.

There are a few of us that throw off the curve, in that we are former Moz employees so we've spent considerable time on the site, and had that "staff" banner, which made people more likely to mark what we said as Good Answer. It also made us less likely to get an answer Endorsed. Current staff and associates are not included on the leaderboard, so when someone active leaves Moz, suddenly there's a new person appearing high up. I started as an Associate with 35 Moz points, and left with about 9000. I'm sure I surprised a couple of people that paid attention to the top ten. 🙂

Oh how right you are. There was nothing like the feeling of fighting my way into spot #20 and then someone came "online" (either active again or staffer) and I was suddenly 21 ... #no #notNOW

Trivia: I think you and I are the only two people in the top 20 of both Inbound & Moz. You have the lowest combined "number" of anyone at 3 + 17 = 20. I am 20 + 13 = 33. Rand would be tied with you (15+5, I think) if he were on the Moz board.

This was fun. I was glad to see some of the names I watch closely pop to the top.

Will Don earn extra Mozpoints for having earned at "pin to the top"? He should 🙂

I found your work on this quite interesting and I have wondered about it from time to time myself. A couple of things to consider are that many of us who have been on Moz a while have had points in time where we were able to be more engaged and others when we are less engaged. So the longer someone is on MOZ, they are less likely to have a consistent input. (Also, I appreciated Keri's input about former employed Mozzers, etc.)
For me, as someone who has been on Moz a while, the real value has come from relationships I achieve as the result of contacting other Mozzers who posted or answered questions. Really, there are too many to list, but I can say there are at least a half dozen people that I met through Moz who are regular contacts for me. There are several of those with whom I have contracted out SEO work to who did/do a great job.

Another thing someone may have mentioned already is that if you were answering questions 3 or 4 years ago you would have gotten less thumbs up, etc. versus today as Moz has improved things like getting people to say yes or no their question was answered.

Thanks again for taking the time to aggregate all that data, it is quite interesting.

There must be more than a few of you because there's a big difference in ratings when Don includes all active users. His example shows EGOL ranking 5 and RyanKent 2. When all active users are included, EGOL drops to 43 and RyanKent 59. That, I guess, and perhaps there's a recency bias when you look at only the top 50.
