Mobilegeddon subpages
-
Hey guys,
I am finding that a number o my sites pages are not mobile friendly despite my homepage being so. will this have an effect on my rankings and should i get it full redsigned to be mobile friendly?

Hi John
This mobile update effects websites on the page level only. So if one of your pages is not mobile friendly, that page may not rank as well in mobile search, but it shouldn't mean that the rest of your site will be affected as well. That is to say, if you have some mobile friendly pages and some not, the whole domain won't be devalued as a result. It is strictly on a page by page basis.
Of course, if these subpages are targeting keywords and have pulled in traffic in the past, it would be very advisable to have them made to be mobile friendly. But for those long-winded pages like a privacy policy page, it wouldn't be a priority.
I imagine we'll learn more and more as the weeks progress as well.
Hope this helps

Thumbs up to Tom. I'd only add that Analytics will tell you much in terms of priorities. From there you can see what percentage of your traffic was/is mobile to begin with and how mobile effects the conversion cycle. Often times the same users begin their research on mobile devices but then move to Desktop or Tablet to purchase. The basic idea being, you can get a solid estimate on your own cost/benefit by running through Analytics. Cheers!
