Creating a campaign and connecting it to Google Analytics

I want to create three campaigns in Moz and connect them to my Google Analytics account. However, two of the domains I am trying to create campaigns for are joined in Google Analytics. Do I need to separate the two in Google in order to create separate campaigns for each in Moz?

It won't be necessary for Moz itself to separate your Google Analytics accounts to create the campaigns like that as you can just use these profiles in both the two campaigns you want to create. However it would maybe a good idea to separate them to in your GA account. But that's your choice of course!

Not sure why the 2 domains are linked in GA.

Although it's not ideal to have 2 lots of GA code on sites, it may be worth doing so that you have separate data for each domain, although it depends why you linked them in the first place. You can then link them to your Moz campaign.

I would keep the old GA code on the site to get the historical data.

Hi Erik,

Thanks for writing in. Can you clarify a bit on how you have the profile set up? Do you track the same UA code on both domains, as with this method: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1034342?hl=en? If so, we aren't able to break out the data into the separate domains and we can only track the traffic data based on actual code and we don't see the domains associated with the code to be able to break the data out.

In order to track domain specific information, each domain would have to have its own UA code in order for us to provide domain specific information through our connection to your GA account.
