Duplicate Content and Titles

Hi Mozzers,

I saw a considerable amount of duplicate content and page titles on our clients website. We are just implementing a fix in the CMS to make sure that these are all fixed. What changes do you think I could see in terms of rankings?

Hard to say Karl. How strongly the duplicate content is impacting the canonical content can differ greatly by example.  Make sure you document the strength and rankings of your canonical content and once your changes have percolated through the algorithm, you'll be able to see what impact they may have had.  If this site is being SEO'd for the first time, be sure you're also looking for other issues besides just duplicate content.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply. We have seen a few drops in rankings since the unconfirmed update last week so I've noted all our current rankings so I can compare them once the changes have been made. We have been SEO'ing the website for a while now but the web company made some changes to their CMS and messed things up!
