Canadian Webhosts
-
Over the years I have head things like where a web host is located can affect local SERP and things like site load times can also have an impact. Looking for a new webhost company in Canada has been a frustrating experience. Far too much marketing and not enough objective assessment. Does anyone know where such objective advice can be found on the net? thanks

I hear you, I've had similar frustrations and I'm currently looking to change my host. I've come across this site http://www.seohost.com/why-seo-host.html , I'm still doing my research but from what I've gathered so far, you want a site that gives you 99.99% uptime, great bandwidth, not in a bad server neighborhood, 24/7 customer support and complete access to your C panel and htaccess. If I find a great one that I go with I'll send you the info and please do the same if you find one. Good luck.

I don't know that I would kill yourself trying to find a Canadian host. Many Canadian sites host in the US. Remember, one of the main reasons to geolocate is latency (you won't get less than 100ms crossing the Atlantic). It helps in geolocation, but not enough in Canada to where I'd be wringing my hands if I didn't have a Canuk host. If you were going for Europe, I'd advise you differently.
