Too Many On-Page Links on a Directory type website?
-
Hi there,
I run a website which is a directory therefore there are a lot of On-Page links.
If you take a look at the site, www.south-african-hotels.com, you will see there are a number of links on all pages which are completely relevant. I'm not sure what to remove as everything is relevant.
The top navigation is available throughout and that alone has 120 links in it to give users easy access to information.
Do I ignore the Too many On-Page links suggestion or do I change something?
Any suggestions welcome!
Thank you in advance!

397 links on the homepage :s
Well, it's definitely something to think about primarily because of how PR flows through links. You may want to consider consolidation for some pages - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/link-consolidation-the-new-pagerank-sculpting
It's not really a metric that you should worry too much about unless you're going overboard with it (and while I've no idea what counts as overboard, 400 is a lot) but check out these if you're worried

Unfortunately, with no hard-fast rule, it's down to you as to how much you think this may effect you.

Hi Barry,
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question I am going to do some more homework and see how best I can consolidate the links.
Many Thanks
