Tweet or ReTweet?

So which is better for SEO, Tweets or ReTweets?

We have a tweet button on our blog which seems to work pretty good.  But I have noticed a few sites that instead of tweeting, they have a ReTweet button where you are actually ReTweeting an original tweet.

Any thoughts?

Tweets are unique, so that would certainly help your unique link count... though with lots of people retweeting the same link I'm sure there's some power behind that as well.

Perhaps a test should be conducted??

I don't think there's a difference whether it's a tweet or a retweet, what's more important is the number of times that link is shared and the "influence" of the people sharing the link. I wouldn't worry too much about whether it's specifically a straight up tweet or a retweet though. They both help from what we've seen!
