Is it good to have dashes in url's
-
When using keywords in url's for internal pages, isn't it a good idea to use dashes or underscores in the url between the keywords?
-
I think so for two reasons:
1. For humans, it is easier to read and to identify keywords
2. For search engines, almost the same as above - easier to identify keywords.

I agree with Gabriel. Good for both reasons, especially search engines. They will read those characters much better. Example? Just look at the url for this forum post.

Also, I think it is best to use dashes as opposed to underscores. One selfish reason is that I find dashes easier to input as opposed to pressing shift + dash.

But.....if you're going for Google's "exact match" URL bonus for your home page, you won't get it if your URL has hyphens.

Great, I really appreciate the info.
