      Hi all,

Whilst adding content to one of my sites quite often I'm left deciding whether I should create an individual webpage for the content, or write it up as another blog post.

More often I write it up as a static page so it fits in with the rest of my website more 'directly'.

However I'm wondering if I'm missing out here as obviously I'm not taking advantage of the benefits of a blog, RSS, Tag Cloud, etc etc...

Just wondering if others encounter the same quandary?

I use blog posts for temporary content and trivial content.

Anything that is valuable, evergreen and substantive gets placed on a dedicated page where I can shape   the appearance, title tag and image placements like finely-crafted arrows.

I then use a blog post to announce the article to my blog visitors and feed subscribers.  The article page is then built into the content structure and categories of the main website.

Ahhh I hadn't considered using the blog to announce the main article.

          Thanks for that suggestion.

            Hi David,

I do the same thing as EGOL.  I write my best content in a WordPress page and then kind of summarize the article in a blog post and link to the article using the anchor text I want the page to rank for.  Then I go into my SEO smart links plugin settings and add the keywords I want the page to rank for ( My main keyword and then a few supporting keywords) and the URL. This way I can build out my internal linking structure without really having to think about it.

            Hope this helps,

            Bill
