      Hi Guys

this is really strange, i am using yoast seo for wordpress on two sites. On both sites i am seeing

meta name='description' instead of meta name="description"

And this is why google is probably not reading it correctly, on many other link submission sites which read your meta data automatically say site blocked. How to i fix this?

      Thanks

I did some research and found this is a "known" problem. I'd be sure you have all the patches up to date. I would even shoot Yoast and email to see if they have the problem fixed. I couldn't find any solution except for some hacks and folks manually changing them.

        Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply, I am really surprised given how well known yoast is, that it has single quotes for no real reason ? Will look for maybe some fixes if there is no advantage for having single quotes.

I'm sorry but this is absolute nonsense. Google indexes those absolutely fine. Want proof? Check my site. A search for [wordpress plugins] reliably brings up my meta description.

Of course, if you don't have the keyword someone searches for in the meta description, the chance of the meta description showing up is close to zero, and even when you do it doesn't always show. But don't blame the single quote. I mean, he's single already. Have some pity.
