I'm confused.  Are you asking for a way to see how your website is being shared across the web?  If so, I really like AddThis.  It has neat analytic reports that tell you where and when your stuff is shared and who is sharing it.

On the other hand, if what you are looking for is to get an idea as to how the public is feeling about a particular topic, perhaps Google Trends is what you are looking for?

Hi Christine, I am not 100% familiarized with this tool, but to measure "sentiment" Raven gives you a Social monitor that shows what is being said about your brand in different channels, so you can review it and mark it as bad, regular, good at your own criteria, check the image below.
