IPhone app promotion and SEO

I am having trouble figuring out if it would be better to have separate site and blog associated with each iPhone app as they are developed or have a central site that has a blog that talks about each of the apps and the niche that they occupy.

Depends a bit on how many apps and how niche they are. Let's say you have only 2 apps. One app gives baseball scores, the other gives cupcake recipes. I would go with a separate site in this case, because the topics are too diverse and there's not a lot of apps.

If, however, you have 5 apps, with 3 more in the works, and they're all about sports in general then I would build one site and segment.
