How do you go about keyword research?

Hello fellow Moz SEOs,

I need your advise or tips. How do you go about keyword research if the website you’re trying to rank is an international multi-brand beauty retail store?   Definitely, competitors are big-time such as Gucci, Christian Dior, Kiehl’s, Lancome, and the likes. I'm feeling so overwhelmed and I don't know where to start.
