Does Screaming Frog ignore double encoded characters in canonicals?

I have a case where canonicals are double encoded. The About Us page of a website keeps the space in the URL and therefore is encoded like this: /about%20us/

However, the Canonical is encoding again and ends up being **/about%2520us/ **since the percentage symbol is encoded.

Now the canonical actually is a 404-page but Screamingfrog still treats and displays the canonical as if everything was right and just encoded a single time: /about%20us/

Can anybody reproduce this?
