Can lost pages be redirected with a 301 in order to do not lost keyword rankings?

Hi, I have got a website and some posts rank well, but I am not so interested in keep them for branding reasons.
So I planned to do 301 redirects to home and remove those contents.
Is it ok?
Thanks!

Hi,
Rather than redirect an article to the homepage, if you just don't want it on the site anymore, either redirect it to something similar or just remove and 404 it. Homepage redirect doesn't offer any benefit to someone landing on that page.
If your 404 page is good, then you can recommend other articles that they may be interested in?

If you redirect, you are probably going to lose most of those rankings and traffic because those pages do not exist on your site anymore and it was the pages that qualified you to appear in the SERPs for those keywords and the content that earned your rankings.
If those keywords and their traffic are still important for you, then create a new page with a new article that suits you, optimized for those important keywords and redirect there. A better way would be to simply post new content on the currently existing page. Those are the best ways to hold traffic when you don't want to continue with certain content.
We have often changed our mind about content and done complete rewrites in the original URL. Works great.
