The brand drop down doesn't seem to be appearing for any brands in google.com.hk. Is it something which needs to be set up and registered, or automatically rolled out by Google?

In google.com.hk SERPs the brand drop down doesn't seem to be appearing for any brands. Is it something which needs to be set up and registered, or automatically rolled out by Google? And if so is Google just slow rolling out in this part of the world? Thanks

What do you exactly mean by "brand drop down"? Are you referring to brands domains that contain commercial keywords?

Yes, Google is usually slow in rolling out major updates in some part of the world.

Hey Umar,

Thanks for your response.  I mean the 'drop down' which gives brand information when you click on it next to the SERP result.  I've been having a look at results in the US and it is prevalent.  But in HK and many other regions it doesn't seem to be a feature.  I'd tend to agree with you on this one I guess it just takes a while for this to be rolled out.

Okay.. This result that you're referring to is actually a wikipedia page of that company. If your brand is already has the wiki page then wait till google start showing these results in your region.

But if you don't have the wiki page, you may want to look into Knowlegde Graph by implementing Schema markups.

P.S: Knowledge graph is different from "brand drop down".
