We do not have an eCommerce on our site but we do have a worldwide website and a local website, which SSL certs should I get?

I found a lot here over at namecheap but not sure if the 10.95 would do just fine or what here: https://www.namecheap.com/security/ssl-certificates/geotrust.aspx ?

It doesn't matter to Google. I don't think anyone issues on less than 2048 bits (your actual encryption will be 128 or 256 bits, depending on what your server and the client supports). As long as it's valid and signed properly it should be fine.

Public Service Announcement: Please opt for SHA2 (if asked) and make sure you don't have any heartbleed problems.

I wrote an article a while back with some basic information on the different types, you might find it helpful. http://dh42.com/blog/prestashop-ssl-certificates/

            It doesnt really matter....for now.

Obviously, you'll need to pay more and give more information to get the better certificates so THAT might have an effect in the future. Who knows when.

I'm currently moving some of our sites to different certs to test them in the coming year.

Getting the greenbar, say like Yoast's site or Paypal and many others, it does give you a more secure feel.

For regular browsers, it could mean that it's safer, maybe it could lead to better engagement/conversions 🙂
