Email Marketing: Google Analytics Causing Emails to Be Flagged as Spam?!
-
Hey,
I use an email program called SendBlaster 3.0 and whenever I add Google Analytics tracking to my email links, the email starts getting flagged as spam by standard email programs (Outlook, Gmail...). I run my email through a standard spam checker (SpamAssassin) and it gets a spam score of .1 out of 10 "Excellent".
The background is that there are a three options when sending (no tracking, Google Analytics Tracking, Email Program's Custom Tracker) ways to send the email and through a little trial/error testing I've found out that only Google Analytics causes the email to be flagged as spam/junk.
1.) No Tracking: Not flagged as spam
2.) Email Program's Custom Tracker: Not flagged as spam
3.) Google Analytics Tracking: Flagged as spam
4.) Google Analytics + Custom Tracker: Flagged as spam
Is there a way for me to include Google Analytics tracking and not be flagged as spam. I am a heavy advocate of tracking all information and do not like the alternative of not knowing how my email campaign metrics perform in comparison to other campaigns.
Heeeeelp Me!!!!!!!

it's because its used by affiliate links. You can try to hide the links behind another one so technically its not in the email (it goes though the link) a link redirect kind of.
Alternatively set up a landing page track users on that landing page combine with the email program tracker you can work out how many were sent, how many bounced and how many landed on the page.
Hope that helps a little.
