What exactly is Duplicate Content ?

I want to learn How Google takes those website, which are purely based on Lyrics or Poems? Because, you really can't alter the lyrics of song websites or poems?

Same song lyrics does appear on many websites, so will Google will call this as "cut and paste" content?

You are correct. This is essentially "duplicate content". I would have to assume that Google would then rank these types of pages on metrics other than content (inbound links, social shares, other SEO metrics... and probably breadth of a content library). But who really knows?

You could just start comparing those types of sites to and get a good idea how Google is ranking them.

Interesting to think about.
