How to retrieve the Not Set Keywords especially the google adwords data in Google Analytics?
-
Hello Friends,
I am having Google adwords and analytics accounts which is linked and enabled auto tagging in that.
I am getting “not set” in keyword report section of Google analytics data. May I know any method to retrieve the search terms/ keywords from the not set data?
May I know what are the factors that can result in showing the “not set” result in Google analytics?
I have gone through few research materials but not getting any exact solution for this.

Hi!
If you are looking at "Keyword" as the primary dimension on the "all traffic" report, it will report "(not set)" for all traffic that is not reporting a keyword (direct traffic, referrals etc). If this is the case, you don't have to worry.
If this is the case on AdWords traffic as well: Have you verified that in addition to linking the accounts in AdWords, all the relevant profiles in GA has this enabled as well? Adding AdWords as a data source can be done per profile within an account.
Hope this helps

Friend,
I have verified the account in addition to linking the account. May I know any filter settings we can apply to get this not set data back?

Hi!
I don't think there are any filters that will help retrieve the keywords, unless there is a filter in play removing this in the first place. causing this.
But in addition to linking the AdWords and analytics account, make sure that AdWords as a cost source has been enabled on the profile level (see Admin >Profile Settings > AdWords Import and Export settings)
Do you have any data at all in the "Traffic sources > Sources > Search > Paid" report? Or does it all still say (not set)? Perhaps this article (Analytics support) can be of help? Are there any redirects going on that removes the "?gclid=...." appended to your URLs?
Hope this helps
