Social media strategy

Hey everyone,

I know is this is a bit of an old strategy, but what do you think about building social profiles (blogger, tumbler, wordpress, etc) with a keyword in the url for link building and SEO? Outdated strategy? Unnatural? Has it worked for you recently?

I am not using the method.  I would rather spend the time creating an asset for my website.

This might only work if the sites offer something of value. I know that's kind of a vague answer, but a lot of people used this strategy with a set-it-and-forget-it plan.

For the social meda sites, if you're not going to be active then don't bother. Try offering coupons, trials, user generated content, top x# lists, ect.
