If you rank well for a broad keyword is it any easier to rank if you make a variation of the keyword? Like in general all articles and content some where include my location Miami and I rank well for the keyword beer bottles, Top 5. If I did beer bottles Miami does that automatically or help any way for that word to rank well? Or also variation beer bottle vendor.

You may always consider to build new traffic on pages with an already established values, however I normally recommend to not make huge changes for such pages and try to create a new one with the new term (vendor or miami), linked from the first one.

In that way your good page will not lose as much value and highly contribute to the rankings of the new ones.

I didnt really mean to just change it but would this help the overall seo. Like i have seen many times doing searches that google ends up taking bits and pieces of my keyword and site to rank for that term.
