Is that trailing slashes mandatory

Hi, i would like to ask - whether the trailing slashes mandatory for the website. This is my website https://www.machinerygate.com/ and the main url got trailing slashes and however when i checked the inner pages, its missing with a trailing slash. Is that trailing slashes significant or not? When i checked with the SEO tool, most of the pages mentioning, it should be added by the tool. Please anyone here with the knowledge, it will be useful for me.

As Ross suggests, it's not. It can be useful sometimes when you want to make sure that the canonical URL set the right way and to not create confusion amongst the same URL with two different variants (one with a slash, the other one without). I'd argue that these days Google is pretty good at solving this problem for you when it exist and ignoring the implications of it. But if you're able to I would always recommend trying to apply a trailing slash (or not), just pick one.
