      Hi all,

Recently I came cross an RV lifestyle blog named RVTalk.net. The website features high-quality contents about handy camping tips, comprehensive RV guides, and in-depth RV product reviews. They seem to spend a lot of effort on the content quality. I've followed this website for a few months and can see they've beeb producing 3,000-5,000 word length contents regularly.

One thing I notice is that they emphasize the main keyword as bold in almost the posts. You can check 1 sample here. Just want to ask for your opinions about the efficiency of this technique and  is the keyword density still important for blog content to rank well in Google.

      Thanks!

        Hi,

We created a post in the same niche https://www.basecampers.com/vw-t5-vs-vw-t6/ It ranks top fold,  sometimes position 0 for 'vw t5 vs vw t6' in the UK

In this article, we didn't concentrate on keyword density or bolding keywords, but rather make really informative valuable content. We did look at surrounding queries and make sure we answered those too.

Google bold the search words in the SERPs, so they know they are there. We have had many successful blogs receiving 10's of 1000's of views per month without that technique.  Although we would emphasize a word with a tag IF it was important and was bold to aid the user by reinforcing something we want to get across. Then it would be of value.

        Does that help? 🙂

          Hi there,

Nope, highlighting keywords in bold does not have any direct impact on SEO. Google's spokesman (John Mueller) has said that bolding help more humans than bots a few years ago, you can check it here.

If that website ranks high is because they are offering great content and experience to users and they might be getting great backlinks.
We could argue if that seems natural for a common reader (not an SEO minded like us). It might seem a little off to be highlighted just right away, but still, it is a great piece of content.

My experience points out that internal linking with rich keyword focus helps Google a lot on understanding its content and on targetting a specific search phrase.

          Hope it helps.
          Best luck.
          Gaston
