So I have a site that I want to shut down http://vowrenewalsmaui.com and redirect to a dedicated Vow Renewals page I am making on this site here:  https://simplemauiwedding.net.

My main question is: I don't want to lose all the authority of the pages and if I just redirect the site using my domain registrar's 301 redirect it will only redirect the main URL not all of the supporting pages, to my knowledge.

How do I not lose all the authority of the supporting pages and still shut down the site and close down my site builder?

I know if I leave the site up I can redirect all of the individual pages to corresponding pages on the other site, but I want to be done with it.

Just trying to figure out if there is a better way than I know of. The domain is hosted through GoDaddy.

If you shed most of your content and / or pages, you WILL lose most of the SEO authority.

301 redirects can transfer 'up to' 100% of SEO authority, from one place to another

They fall down in two situations:

        1. Chaining redirects

        2. Dissimilar content

Even if 301s go A-to-B, if the content is highly dissimilar, the SEO authority gets vented instead of transferring over. This is to put a stop to black-hat techniques, like buying up old authoritative domains and then 301-ing them all to one page for a giant SEO boost (it used to work, it kind of works now... but not well at all - and not for long)

If a machine can read all the content from Google's last 'active' cache of the old URLs, and then read the content and technical / brand facets of the new URL - and feel they are highly dissimilar (in machine terms, think Boolean string similarity) then... the 301 redirect loses much of its power

Google don't see you, as the owner of your own page's SEO authority. You didn't earn it, the pages did - with their great content. As such, if you're removing content from the web which Google likes, and putting an 'unknown quantity' in its place - that's risk for Google's rankings. Be very careful how you move...
