A website I am working on is ranked very well in all tracked keywords at a national level, but not from a local standpoint via google. I find it weird that the site is on the first page if you search from many other states/towns/locations but not locally. Looked on Google Search Console and couldn't see any link to why this is happening. Figured we would clear out the htaccess for any redirect issues and hope it fixes it. Suggestions please? Never seen google do this. It is strange.

What are the keywords you are tracking? My suggestion is you should add the specific location in your keywords in your landing pages. E.g bakeries in blank town.

You could also reach out and build links in websites that are ranking locally. I also think that ranking high nationally but not locally is not a bad thing.

Also, have you checked if you have the correct information on Google My Business? If yes, try also putting your website on local directories more frequently.

I'm not really an expert with web development, i'm more of a link building specialist and that's what I could suggest right now.

          Hi There!

I want to be sure I'm correctly understanding your scenario. Is your company a digital-only or a local business? In order to appear in Google's local results you must have:

          • A physical location in the city of search.

          • Make face-to-face contact with your customers.

If either of these factors is absent, the business is not meant to appear in the local results. Please, feel free to provide further details so the community can envision your specific scenario.
