Redirect chain on print pages
-
I'm using a recipe plugin on my site https://thepaleogirl.com and the crawl comes up with a lot of redirect issues due to the fact that for each recipe a separate print page is created such as this one https://thepaleogirl.com/whole30-approved-sweet-potato-breakfast/print/115/
In the crawl it shows up as http and not the https. Is that what is causing the redirect issues? I'm a little confused as to what to do with these and if it is save to just ignore them.
Thanks for the help!

Hey!
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Our Crawler will always start from the HTTP seed of the URL specified in your Campaign Settings - so that shouldn't be a problem!
When we point out a redirect chain, the idea is to reduce the number of redirects in total. Let's say you had three URLs - URL A, B and C. URL A redirects to URL B, which redirects again to URL C. You'd want to remove the redirects for URL B in the middle, so that URL redirects straight to URL C. This minimises moving parts and would fix that redirect chain, however, each site is slightly different so it depends on your web developer/administrator whether this needs to be addressed or not.
Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com so we can look into your personal Campaign.
All the best,
Eli

Hi Simone,
I have checked your website with Screaming Frog Tool, and In addition to what Eli has already explained, there seems to be some problem with the print pages of your website. They are showing up as redirect pages while pointing to the same URL, it must be an error on Wordpress plugin or the website itself. You need to get it fixed.
I hope this helps, let me know if you have further queries, I will be more than happy to help.
Best Regards,
Vijay

Thanks Eli and Vijay for the answer. I'm still a bit unsure as to how to get it fixed. What I will do is contact the plugin developer and see if they can make sense of the issue. As far as I can tell while browsing the site there is no issue.
When I go to a print page, it shows up as a printpage, so I just don't know where the redirect is. It doesn't actually redirect. Hope that makes sense.
Will look into this further!
Thanks

No problem! I hope it goes well

I often use this third party tool to check on redirects: https://httpstatus.io/
