Did google shorten meta description length? It looks like it is back to around the 150 character length

¿Really? Great Google... We write longer meta descriptions because they want longer meta descriptions and now we have to shorten all again.

I like that Pete gives 4 possible suggestions in that post, not all of which are having to go back a shorten your meta descriptions. Be sure to consider all 4 possibilities
