SERP always between 1-3, Should I remarket?
-
Hey guys. My business consistently ranks 1-3 on SERP (google) and starting to wonder if my newly launched remarketing campaign is a waste of money. My CTR has consistently been 10%. However, I am unable to track actual conversions because of a cross domain\3rd party I am using. I can see those clicks are decent Time on Site and page views. Of course Google is telling my its capped because of budget. What to do? Am I competing with myself? Would the visitors showed up anyways?
Anyone have some insight they would like to share? I really don't wanna waste the $$ if I don't need to.
Thanks,
Doug -
This is more an SEM than an SEO question. I think I can help but I have a couple of questions first.
1. Do you have multiple campaigns running for multiple domains/accounts?
2. Where ad platform are you remarketing on?
3. Are you familiar with Google Tag Manager and would you be interested in setting up cross domain tracking?
4. What's your level of familiarity with remarketing and ppc in general? -

Hello Mr. Brett. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
1. I have two domains I am marketing for in adwords. Both are the same type of business but different locations. One is well known and the other is not. The one that is well known I am doing the remarketing for. I also do some social marketing for that location, but nothing else. The lesser known location i have a pretty serious adwords campaign running with good results.
2. The only remarketing I am doing is adwords\search.
3. I am using google tag manager on the site, but still unable to get cross domain working. On my site (domain1.com), its a simple widget (domain2.com) that opens up and completes the transaction then pushes them to a thank-you page (back to domain1.com). I track all the thank-you landings, but they all show they are coming from domain2.com.
4. I am no way an expert, but I am pretty familiar with many of the technologies being deployed.
Thanks again for any help you may offer!
