Drop in Domain Authority across 20 sites
-
Hi
I monitor and track 20-25 sites. I got a -1 in DA across the board this month. Has anyone else experienced this. It's possible my server/cms guys have made a global change.
Has anyone at Moz or anyone in the community experienced this?

Hi. I track 32 websites and many of them saw a drop of 1-2 in DA this month. 7 dropped by 2, 7 dropped by 1, 15 stayed the same, one dropped by 3, one by 7 and one by 8. I didn't have a single one improve.

That's a little reassuring. I think. At least we're both in this together.
Anyone else?

I should add that not all of these websites are ours, but many are competitors'.

Hi Andrew,
This question is asked a lot on here.
Fluctuations in DA are going to happen as each Mozscape update will be different and may not pick up the same links to your site.
You should check other tools to make sure you haven't actually lost any links that may be causing the decrease, but you shouldn't really be concerned if your DA decreases sometimes.
If you haven't seen it, Rand did a Whiteboard Friday on the ins and outs of DA/PA which you might find useful: https://moz.com/blog/link-count-metrics
Cheers,
David

Hi Andrew,
Yes DA scores change a lot over time. I have noticed more changes this month than usual though. I was a little concerned when my scores went down one (1) on average, but it looks very widespread. Moz may have made some changes to their scoring model or something. We like most people have been working hard to get our scores to go up.
Best Regards
