Im new to seomoz and it provides some great information but does not tell you the best way to increase moz rank etc...it also does not explain the importance of thins such as page authority and how it is achieved etc? is there an information section?

I would start with the Beginners Guide to SEO  which is under the "Learn SEO" section on the Navbar

Webinars are also good for specific topics with detailed explanations
