I got the problem to track PayPal conversion in Google Analytics, I use PayPal to accept the payment from customers & I want to track proper source of revenue for those customers who are paying with PayPal, if you check attached screenshot, maximum revenues are showing from PayPal, but did not get exact source of revenue, even I have setup e-commerce tracking code properly on success page and some of records are tracked perfectly, but not able to track exact source of revenue who are paying via PayPal.

Kindly check the attached screenshot for more details.

It would be appreciated if anybody give suggestions or inputs to solve this issue.

      Thanks,

      Akshay

        Hi,

The easiest way is probably to add paypal.com to your referral exclusion list in analytics. You can read more details on how this works here. Hope it helps!

The conversions can't really be tracked because they don't happen on your site, they happen on PayPal's site. I don't know a way to include that in revenue. I do it manually from the back end of my platform.

You will probably have to use Data Importer if you can't get what you're looking for after the user returns to your site from Paypal. But I would think this article could help you accomplish what you need.

              Hi Lynnp,

Thanks for your valuable reply, I will definitely try this one. Do you thing it will resolve PayPal tracking issue in Google Analytics? I just want to track correct source of revenue, whether it is coming from organic, direct or referral for PayPal payment Method.

              Thanks,

              Akshay

                Hello Monica,

Thanks for your reply, but what i believe is there should be some way to track, otherwise how do we come to know that exact source of revenue, whether coming from organic, direct or referral.

                Thanks,

                Akshay

                    Hi Akshay,

Third party cart tracking issues like this is one of the common things that the referral exclusion is used for. It is similar to adding the utm_nooverride=1 tag on the return links as described in the article Everett links to below. You can try it and check your data for a couple of days (or just hours) to verify that it is doing what you want, if for some reason it doesn't you can always remove the exclusion. From the analytics attachment you showed - I think it will solve your problem.

                      Hi Lynnp,,

Thanks for quick reply, I have added paypal.com to referral exclusion list in analytics and it seems working fine, but still will monitor couple of days to verify.

                      Thanks,

                      Akshay

Hi, I have recently had the same issue with Paypal so I placed it on the GA exclusion list. I'm still seeing 1 or 2 transactions being listed but nothing close to what was showing before. Could someone please tell me why these limited transactions are still coming through?

                        Thank you!
